Evergen Technologies Story
Evergen Technologies was founded in 2024, with the belief that scientific research shouldn’t remain in the lab—it should live in the world, where it can solve real problems and create real impact.
Evergen Technologies is a spin-off from Mahidol University, founded on a mission to turn agricultural waste into material innovations that drive environmental and economic change. Rooted in science and sustainability, we apply advanced research to real-world challenges—starting in Thailand, one of the world’s leading pineapple producers, where vast fields generate significant volumes of agricultural waste. Around 2010, our team began a long-term research effort to develop new ways of extracting natural fibers—methods that enhance performance while minimizing environmental impact. In 2012, we published our first scientific paper and secured a patent for an innovative fiber extraction process—an achievement that laid the foundation for everything that followed.
Next Step to PiLeatha
Our flagship innovation, PiLeatha, is a 100% plastic-free, bio-based leather made entirely from pineapple leaf fiber. Developed through proprietary fiber extraction and material engineering processes, PiLeatha mirrors the structure, flexibility, and texture of genuine leather—without relying on synthetics. It’s biodegradable, customizable, and scalable for use across fashion, design, and lifestyle industries seeking high-performance, low-impact materials. Today, PiLeatha is gaining traction with brands that prioritize sustainability. We believe our material offers a credible alternative to conventional leather, and many are now testing and integrating it into their products.

Waste is not a waste anymore.
At Evergen, we don’t just reduce waste—we revalue it. By training local farmers to process pineapple leaves into usable fiber, we create new jobs and income streams while helping eliminate open-field burning. This circular model supports rural livelihoods, cuts greenhouse gas emissions, and proves the untapped potential of agricultural byproducts—transforming what was once discarded into a premium material at the forefront of sustainable innovation.
Our work is rooted in purpose, powered by science, and made to last.
